I’m a second year student at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. This year, I got into the UWED MUN Secretariat 2020, as USG under Crisis Committee. Last year, I was an active volunteer, and helped the USG for Event Management. My main interest is obviously related to the United Nations Organization. From the early stage of my childhood, I always had an enthusiasm to learn new languages and travel from one country to another. It is due to my father’s job - he is a diplomat. Most of my life, I lived in a beautiful country, which is known as the heart of the European Union - Belgium. The reason why I’m interested in the sphere of international relations and international organizations is because I was involved in this environment from the very beginning. However, I may also tell that the passion which I have right now, grew from one year to another due to my unlimited interest in the spectrum of Foreign Affairs. In the school that I’ve attended (Brussels American School), one of my favorite teacher, Ms Yellets, after finding out my passion for international organizations and the knowledge of languages, advised me to get interested in the United Nations Organization. I knew approximately how was structured this organization and its main goals, but never dug deeper. Once , I decided to find out more about it and that was the day I first fell in love. I set up a goal - to become an ambassador to the United Nations. I can’t express in words how greatly I want to be part of it. I have set my goal a long time ago, and I never back up from my words. If I promised to reach this target, then I’ll do it, no matter what challenges I’ll face. I found out about MUNs and started to participate in them to get closer to my goal. Right now, I do participate in them to get more experience, in order to develop myself as a person, and to become more proficient at public speaking. Moreover, MUNs became for me something indescribable - the atmosphere during the conference is amazing! Right now, I’m not only eager to participate in them, just because of my goal, but I’m also willing to be part of them because, in process, I found new friends and people who share the same opinion. These kind of conferences built teamwork and very strong bonds with others. Thankfully to MUNs I was able to become more confident at expressing my own opinion and to share with my perspective about specific topics. These conferences do help young people to analyze situations with the analytical point of view and share their solutions to world problems.
